Silom Road is one of Bangkoks' most cosmopolitan streets, located in Bangrak District.  This six-lane concrete road starts from Charoenkrung Road (Bangrak Intersection) to the northeastern direction and meets with Mahaesak -Surasak Road (Surasak Intersection), Pramuan Road (Pramuan Intersection), Decho Road (Decho Intersection), Narathiwat Ratchanakarin Road (Silom-Narathiwat Intersection) and Convent Road (Convent Intersection) and ends at Rama IV Road (Saladaeng Intersection).  Silom road has traffic islands  with large trees planted all along the road.  This is the first road in Thailand where electricity and telephone cables are grounded.

Silom is currently considered one of the most important financial districts in Bangkok.  Some even name Silom Road as "Wall Street of Thailand".  It is the home to several bank headquarters, hotels, office buildings, as well as a number of major department stores along both sides of the road.  It is a tourist destination  where you can find various kinds of products and souvenirs along the street side at nighttime, including in Soi Lalaisap. Furthermore, the cultural project, “Walking Street” used to be held on this street on Sundays.Skytrain is available to serve you on Silom Road, running from Rama IV Road at Saladaeng Station and running to Sathorn Road at Chong Nonsi Station.

Sathorn Road can be divided into two sides, namely, North Sathorn located in Bangrak District, and South Sathorn located in Sathorn District.  In the past, Sathorn Road was the residence area for Chinese and European merchants.  Thus, you can find several western style houses on this road. Expats  working in the Silom and Sathorn area often look for apartments and condominiums, and can find some houses on back sois off Sathorn in zone.
